¹² training us that having denied ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live sound-mindedly^[a] and righteously and godly in the present age, ¹³ while waiting-for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ Who gave Himself for us in order that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and cleanse for Himself a special^[b] people— zealots^[c] for good works.
